Monica Gauntt, Licensed Counselor

Monica Gauntt

LPC Associate, NCC
Supervised by Jennifer Cain, LPC-S, RPT-S, RST
(TX License #18778)

Monica is passionate about supporting individuals as they pursue personal growth, discover meaning, navigate life transitions, and overcome life's challenges. She works with clients from early childhood through adulthood and takes an integrative, holistic approach to counseling, thoughtfully tailoring treatment to meet each client's unique needs and goals.

Monica holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a certificate in Play Therapy from Sam Houston State University and is a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She earned her undergraduate degree in Child Development from California State University, Sacramento. Before becoming a counselor, Monica had the privilege of working closely with children and families as an early childhood educator — an experience that continues to inform her clinical work today.

As a Play Therapist, Monica utilizes both non-directive and directive play therapy approaches and works collaboratively with parents to support children ages four through nine. As a parent, stepparent, and former educator, she brings a deep understanding of the complex dynamics and challenges faced by children, parents, and blended families. Monica is currently in the final phase of her journey toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT).

Outside of the clinic, Monica enjoys coffee, reading, cooking, traveling, and long walks with her dog. She cherishes time with her husband and their blended family of six boys (and one daughter-in-law!), finding joy in both family adventures and quiet moments together.
